People find me by searching all sorts of words: holistic, biological, functional, natural, integrative. They're all reaching for the same idea. A dentist who treats the mouth as part of the person, not a separate department.
What the words usually mean
-Functional dentistry borrows from functional medicine. It asks why a problem developed, not only how to fix it: diet, breathing, sleep, grinding, stress.
-Natural dentistry usually means a preference for materials and approaches that are as kind to the body as possible, and not doing more than needed.
-Integrative dentistry means working alongside other health professionals rather than in isolation.

How I work
-I look for the cause. Worn teeth might be grinding. Grinding might be poor sleep. Poor sleep might be a blocked airway. I follow the thread.
-Metal-free materials. White composite that is BPA-free, and ceramic where a tooth needs more support. Metal-free dentistry.
-Minimal intervention. If a tooth doesn't need treatment, I'll tell you. Several of my reviews mention exactly that.
-Diet and nutrition. We talk about what you eat, because it matters for your teeth and gums. Nutrition and your teeth.
