Working With Your Other Practitioners

Your mouth doesn't sit in isolation, and neither should your dentist. Many of my patients also see a nutritionist, a homeopath, a naturopath, a functional medicine doctor or an osteopath. I'm glad to work alongside all of them, and of course alongside your GP.

Why it helps

-Joined-up care. If your nutritionist is working on your blood sugar and I'm treating your gums, we're pulling in the same direction.

-Fewer gaps. Things spotted in the mouth, such as signs of grinding, dry mouth or gum changes, can be useful to the people looking after the rest of you.

-You don't have to repeat yourself. With your permission, we'll share what's relevant.

I teach practitioners too

I lecture on the mouth–body connection at the College of Homeopathic Education and on the Living Nutrition course, and on Lisa Strbac's homeopathy course. More about my teaching.

So when a patient mentions homeopathy, nutrition or another approach, I understand where they're coming from, and I'm comfortable talking about it openly.

Referring a patient to me

If you're a practitioner and your client wants a dentist who will listen and work with you, they can message us on WhatsApp, or you can email info@thebespokedentist.co.uk.

What stays the same

Whatever else you're doing, dental problems still need dental treatment, and your GP should always know about your general health. I'll be honest with you about what I think each approach can and can't do.
